Geography of Bratislava
Bratislava is situated in the southwest part of the Slovak Republic .The town lies by the foothills of the Little Carpathian Mountains, which form the beginning of the huge Carpathian Arc. On the Southeast recedes The Little Carpathians to the Danube lowlands, on the Northwest to the Zahorska lowlands. Both of the lowlands belong to Bratislava.
The highest point in Bratislava region is Vysoka with 754 meters.
The region lies in moderately warm climate, usually blow a northwest wind.
The water system of the region belongs to the Danube basin. The Danube is the second largest European river, it flows across the region with a length of 37 km and creates a part of natural border with Austria and Hungary. Bratislava is the only capital in the world which borders two countries.
On the south-facing slopes of Small Carpathians is produced a wine of high quality
