You can pay in cash or with credit cards in the department stores. Credit cards are generally accepted in most shops.
Shopping
The traditional and most popular souvenirs from Slovakia are dolls dressed in the folk costumes, ceramics, carved wooden figures, "crpák", "fujara", "valaska", leather goods, embroideries, embroidered pillow cases, folk costumes, wine, plum brandy, Figaro chocolate, cheese products. The traditional folklore products can be found in the shops of the ULUV organization ( www.uluv.sk).
The Old Town gives home for some interesting retailers too, such as the jewelry and watch shops, bookstores, wine stores, glass and porcelain, ceramics, antiques and other souvenirs. It is a different shopping experience to visit to the open air market on Mileticova Street with its vegetable and fruit stands, cheap clothing kiosks and pubs.
